La
Creuse is one of France’s least inhabited departments in the
Limousin region and although Marliannes is in a rural hamlet, it is by no means isolated. All the amenities you need to make your holiday a memorable occasion are on hand - only 5 minutes from the local village of ‘St Etienne De Fursac’, which has two restaurants, two bars, garage, florist, chemist, cash points and the local Post Office. A further 10 minutes north is the beautiful town of ‘La Souterainne’. The town still has some parts of the medieval ramparts standing, including the massive portal known as the Porte St Jean. The town also has banks, two large supermarkets and a host of small and interesting shops, as well as a Saturday market where you can buy fresh fish, local cheeses and a variety of complementary foods. |
